Tons of real, lifesaving aid are just sitting a few kilometers away at the border, ready to go in by truck if anyone would just allow it. But no, instead we get an expensive charade with a few boxes dropped from the sky, just so Germany and a couple of other countries don’t have to confront Israel or make any tough decisions. Meanwhile, Germany’s budget for humanitarian help is getting slashed, but somehow they’ve got endless cash for these flying PR stunts, while real solutions are politically “too hard.”
