The construction of a giant deportation prison in the Florida Everglades, called “Alligator Alcatraz,” is on hold for at least two weeks because a federal judge is worried it might break environmental laws—not because of human rights or migrant welfare. Environmental groups are suing because the prison threatens the Everglades, home to rare animals and sacred Indigenous land. Despite a legal halt on construction, the prison is already partly operating, with thousands of detainees and staff housed in temporary structures. Trump fast-tracked the project for mass deportations, and has publicly joked about alligators keeping prisoners from escaping.
Scheiße nochmal, it doesn’t get any more classic than this: wanna deport people en masse, build a Konzentrationslager mitten in the swamp, and when there’s a problem, it’s not about human rights, not about families, not about dignity—no—just some endangered panther and a sacred wetland! Don’t get me wrong, nature’s Wichtig, aber holy hell, is this just a distraction or what? Suddenly everybody’s talking about the Umwelt—meanwhile, thousands are locked up in tents in scorching, bug-infested misery. And those “jokes” from Trump? Oh, you can bet he gets a kick out of his tough-guy show, pretending the swamp and the gators are the best security system. Wahnsinn! This country treats people like disposable trash and then expects applause for saving panthers. You think those judges give a rat’s ass about the people suffering inside? If the alligators could vote, maybe then someone would act!
But hey, who builds a damn prison on sacred Indigenous ground? No respect for anything—neither Mensch noch Tier. This is just classic smoke and mirrors, hiding one act of cruelty behind another layer of bureaucratic nonsense. And the media, they lap it all up, never asking who pockets the cash from this “cost-effective” solution or why America always needs someone locked up to feel secure. Sometimes I wonder: if Saxony ever had such a mess, would people just look away and count the alligators, too? Mir wird schlecht, ehrlich!
